More 1920s Candies

The 1920s was a decade known as the "Roaring 20s". It is an era full of rebellious fun. With the ending of World War I and the booming economy, the 1920s brought the television, the electric razor, the jukebox, the flapper girls, Babe Ruth, dance marathons...and the candies! In the 1920s, some of the biggies in the candy world were invented and designed to reflect the special era. Candy Cigarettes were popular among kids and teens until critics believed that they were having bad influence in children and caused the ban of candy cigarettes in some European countries and several states in the US. Another popular candy product is the Charleston Chew. It is named after the popular dance Charleston at that time. Ah, who could forget Baby Ruth? Although most people would think it was named after the famous baseball player, it was actually named after President Grover Cleveland's daughter. From Caramel Creams to  Milky Ways, from Chiclets to Reeses cups... Candies from 1920s are certainly invoke good times. To those of you who were born in the 1920s, congratulations! If you know somebody who was born in the 1920s, gift him/her some of these retro candies to remind them the good old times they had and the sweet memories of their favorite candies.
